Last August, Cadillac unveiled its Ciel concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The convertible was a throw back to the brand's golden past of big cars and premium luxury. The idea will live on as the base for a new flagship sedan, given a green light by GM, proposed to compete in the 7-series segment. As Cadillac increases global sales, particularly in China, the need to compete at the market's highest end is clear. Look for a concept of the new sedan in early 2013. [The Detroit Bureau]
