Over the course of the NBA off-season, Nets general manager Billy King has made some bold yet effective decisions in rebuilding his team. Even though everyone wasn't too enthusiastic about the Joe Johnson acquisition, the move was the tipping point in getting Deron Williams to choose Brooklyn over Dallas. So, we gotta admit that, overall, the choices made by King have been wise ones. However, there is a recent proclamation made by the Nets GM that we just cannot agree with one bit.
While discussing the new-look Nets backcourt of Deron Williams and Joe Johnson with Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Billy King revealed this gem:
Billy King said Deron/Joe Johnson is better than Nash/Kobe: "They’re good. I like them. But I think ours is better."— Stefan Bondy (@NYDNInterNets) July 13, 2012
Hmm. Better? Let's think about this. Nash and Kobe have a combined 3 Most Valuable Player awards and 5 NBA Championships while Deron and Joe Johnson have totaled 0 MVPs and 0 chips in their collective careers. Need we say more?
