Lions' Aaron Berry Arrested on Three Charges of Simple Assault; Second Time in Less Than a Month

And another one.

None

The NFL may have taken a break from all the action on the field following the Super Bowl on February 5th, but that doesn't mean there's been a shortage of players making the news since then. In fact, on Saturday morning, the Lions' Aaron Berry was arrested on three simple assault charges for an incident that involved brandishing a firearm. This is Berry's second arrest in less than a month. But it gets worse.

Detroit has already encountered 7 arrests since the start of the off-season. If you need a rundown, here it is: the two marijuana arrests for running back Mikel Leshoure, defensive tackle Nick Fairley's arrests for marijuana possession and DUI, offensive tackle Johnny Culbreath charge on marijuana possession and Berry's two make up all seven ."We are extremely disappointed by the reports involving Aaron Berry," the team said in yet another statement. "We are currently gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate."

What we do know is Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reported that Berry was taken into custody at around 2:30 A.M. and was no longer in the holding facility at this moment. In addition, it is believed that, according to Pro Football Talk, Berry may have pointed a gun at group of people from inside a car. Ironically, the cornerback just entered a diversion program for first-time offenders, where he is required to perform 20-40 hours of community service in a six-month period and submit to an alcohol evaluation.

With another arrest under the league's belt, the tally now stands at an astounding 29.
