City planners in Copenhagen opend the first of 26 planned routes of bicycle highway was back in April as part of an initiative to make the city carbon neutral, balancing the carbon produced with carbon offsets like having people bike to work, by 2025. Half of the citiy's residents already bike to work or to school every day, and planners are hoping the newly built bike highway will encourage even more.
