Bad news, guys. The Complex soccer team, Complex FC, didn't win the 11th annual adidas FANATIC soccer tournament on Saturday at Chelsea Waterfront Park. Boo! But, we did represent 'Plex to the fullest by putting together a pretty impressive 2-1-1 record to start things off and advancing all the way to the quarterfinals of the tournament before bowing out to the Chinatown Soccer Club 4-2 in extra time to finish off as the Group C runner-ups.

When it was all said and done, The Smile walked away with the FANATIC XI trophy after besting Marcus Samuelsson's Blatte United in the final game with the Nowhere FC taking home the prize for best jerseys and the creative agency Psyop winning the award for best team spirit. But, we feel pretty good about where we finished this year, especially with all the talented teams that came out to play.

Kudos to adidas for putting together the event. Outside of all of the action on the field, there was plenty of BBQ to go around. Heineken, Vita Coco, Powerade, and smart water kept everyone hydrated. And, DJ Neil Armstrong manned through a hot New York City afternoon to hold us down on the ones and twos. All in all, another fantastic FANATIC experience. Is it time to start getting ready for next year yet? #nodaysoff
