Japanese advertising company Shunkosha recently found a new way to deliver brand messages to a familiar audience: subway riders. Although riders on the subway have certainly seen print ads all over stations, the use of near field communication (NFC) technology is allowing for a more direct approach.  The program, dubbed 'Strappy' has been running as an experiment for the past few weeks in Tokyo train stations, using the NFC technology to send the user’s phone to a URL when tapped. Expect to see this in a train near you within the next few years.
