Roots For: Cubs, early parole
The imprisoned former Governor of Illinois, in addition to be a world class douche, is also a baseball fan. Politicians have a long history of pandering to Chicagoans by claiming Cubs or Sox, mispronouncing player names, and making corny jokes about the other side of town. It's a showy, disingenuous attempt to humanize sociopaths that makes everyone involved look like a jackass. In a rather poetic example, Blagojevich (who is currently serving a 14-year prison sentence on corruption charges) once said of Wrigleyville pariah Steve Bartman "[he] will never get a pardon from this Governor." #karmasabitch
