The first major crash of the 2012 Indy 500 had three key points. First, as Mike Conway was coming into pit road, he cut in too close to the wall and took out some of his pit crew members. In the process, he snapped his front left wing. When he came out of the pits, this presented an obvious problem, and as tried to come out, he lost control. Unfortunately for Will Power, that's exactly where he was headed, causing the two to crash straight into the wall. The third point came when one of the stray bouncing tires narrowly missed Helio Castroneves. The tire actually grazed the top of Castroneves' front right tire, yet he remained incredibly calm. Watch the crazy footage above.
