Six months ago, Usain Bolt met fashion designer Lubica Slovak. They were introduced to each other by a mutual friend, reggae singer Tami Chynn. Over time, the two became "very comfortable together and easy," said a friend of Slovak to the Daily Mail. However, they did keep any semblance of a relationship hidden from the public. With a bond so strong, what's the reason to hide it?
Last month, a picture of Usain and Lubica kissing made its way to the Jamaican Observer and the public had a field day with it. Below is a couple of responses from those individuals who disapproved of Bolt dating Slovak, or better yet, a Caucasian woman:
One online posting said: ‘Really now Usain! Some successful black men obviously suffer from a white woman complex. You too?’, while another complained: ‘Another one of our men snatched.’
As a friend of Lubica stated, "‘Love has no race–it’s a heart-to-heart connection." Unfortunately, not everyone can see it that way.
