People who go on vacation and spend all their time in a hotel room watching television just really don't understand something about life. They're just missing the whole point. The Cottage Lodge in the village of Brockenhurst in the UK understands this, and in an effort to boost it's "green" points have created the “Standing Hat” room in which guests have to pedal a bike powered generator to operate the rooms TV set. The room also features low-energy lighting, solar panels and a wood-burning stove to produce hot water, and a low-flow toilet and shower to reduce water use.
