If the San Francisco 49ers had Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or, hell, Matt Moore starting at quarterback for them last season, they would have gone to the Super Bowl. Even though he had a pretty solid year, Alex Smith was serviceable at best and, at times, it felt like the Niners were winning in spite of him and not because of him. The team ranked 29th overall in passing yards. But, he still doesn't think he's that bad at QB—to be fair, he did do a good job of managing games at times last season—which is why he just threw a few shots at Panthers quarterback Cam Newton in an effort to prove that he's a better shotcaller than most NFL fans think he is.

"I could absolutely care less about yards per game," he explained recently. "I think that is a totally overblown stat, because if you're losing games in the second half, guess what, you're like the Carolina Panthers and you're going no-huddle the entire second half. Yeah, Cam Newton threw for a lot of 300-yard games. That's great. You're not winning, though."

Hmmm…Not a bad point. But, you do realize you just completely shit all over Cam's rookie season, right, Alex? Don't hate on a fellow No. 1, son.
