When we heard about a Lebanese basketball player named Mohammad El Akkari who scored 113 points in a single game last week, we almost couldn't believe it. Especially after we found out that he'd only averaged about seven points per game prior to his 113-point effort. But, a video of the game just surfaced and…yeah. I played at the YMCA this morning and the guys there played way tougher D than anything you'll see here (seriously, can SOMEONE get a hand in this guy's face?!). So, while we don't want to take anything away from El Akkari's accomplishment—113 points is still 113 points!—his 113-point game makes so much more sense now.
Maybe Wilt Chamberlain's "unbreakable" NBA record isn't in danger after all.
