It turns out O.J. Mayo didn't have the fail of the season last night after all. He actually didn't even have the fail of the night. That distinction belongs to Metta World Peace. Inbounding the ball from halfcourt with the Lakers up 2 on the Hornets with 1.2 seconds to go, Metta inexplicably threw the ball toward his own basket, where his teammate Matt Barnes had to scramble to get the ball and prevent a New Orleans player from scoring what would've been the game-tying layup. It's as if he was trying to (literally) throw the game, and the faces of his teammates at the end of the clip might be the best part: Darius Morris (in the Lakers warmup) looks like he might cry, while Ramon Sessions (black shoulder brace) looks like he's trying to pierce World Peace with a death ray. Pray for Mike Brown.
