Last we checked, it's 2012. So, it's a little bit silly that we're even having a conversation about where women should—and should not—be allowed to go. The ban on women that still exists at the Augusta National Golf Club is ridiculous. And President Obama thinks it's ridiculous, too. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said as much earlier today when he passed on the President's thoughts on the matter on the first day of this year's Masters tournament at Augusta.

"He believes, his personal opinion is, that women should be admitted," Carney said. "We are kind of long past the time when women should be excluded from anything."

On the one hand, what else do you really expect President Obama to say? But, on the other, he's right. We understand Augusta is just trying to honor tradition. But, yo: It's 2012, fellas! Time to do away with this particular tradition, mmkay?
