Indoor track racing is coming to NYC, the Brooklyn Bridge Park to be exact, with a recent $40 million contribution from philanthropist Joshua P. Rechnitz to go towards building a Velodrome and multi-use facility in the yet to be completed park. The proposed field house will include facilities for basketball, tennis, and other sports and will seat up to 2,500 people.

The contribution stands as the largest single donation ever made to a New York City park, and promises to reinvigorate the sport of competitive cycling in the city.
