Despite Tiger Woods shooting the best final round of his PGA Tour career with an eight-under 62, Rory McIlroy stayed steady, shot a one-under 69 and won the Honda Classic. The 22-year-old's sixth career victory, third on the PGA tour, will vault him to the No. 1 spot in the World Golf Rankings on Monday, making him the second youngest to achieve the feat behind Woods. McIlroy shot 66, 67, 66, 69 to finish at 12-under-par and two strokes ahead of Woods and Tom Gillis. His victory pulled in $1,026,000 of the $5,700,000 tournament purse. Interestingly enough, McIlroy has the same amount of career wins (6) and major championship wins (1) as Tiger did when he first became No. 1 back in 1997. That, however, might be the only similarity between the two.
