Bruton Smith, the CEO of Speedway Motorsports, wants to build a replica of the legendary Nurburgring outside Las Vegas. Given today's technology it is entirely possible. The track will be intended for private lapping and testing by auto companies. It has been stated that the Vegasburgring has no intentions of hosting motorsport events.
If the Nevada Bureau of Land Management agrees to donate 8,000 otherwise useless acres of scrub and armadillo droppings this will become a reality. The original may be the "green hell," but we're going to call this the "beige hell."
