Does Kobe Bryantever think before he speaks? Seriously?! Last week, a video surfaced of KB claiming to be better than Michael Jordan, but we thought he just got caught up in the moment, so we gave him a pass. But now this is getting too far out of hand.
In his latest edition of saying whatever the hell crosses his mind, Bryant claims that he has "gone through his 16-year career without a true rival on the exterior to push him to succeed." After getting the win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday, Kobe discussed the topic of having a rival with the media. "I didn't have one," KB stated. With today's Lakers/Heat game on everyone's collective minds, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were brought into the equation.
"Not for me," Bryant said of a rivalry with Bron Bron. "I get up for everybody just the same, to be honest. It's hard for me to turn my meter up any higher than it normally is." OK, fair play. But what about Wade? "He's too young. When I came into the league, he was in elementary school." However, ESPN pointed out that Kobe is only three years older than D-Wade. But the Black Mamba wasn't done there.
With no one touching the Lakers shooting guard, according to the man himself, Kobe took it a step further. "At this point my rivals, in terms of what I have left to accomplish in my career, (left the game) when Magic (Johnson) and Michael (Jordan) retired in '98," Bryant said. "That's it. In terms of what I'm looking to accomplish, that's about it." Now, we've heard our share of outlandish claims by #24, but does this one actually hold some weight? Or is this just another case of Bryant losing his mind, along with his money?
