The Harley-Davidson motorcycle company wants you in the seat of one of its fine motorcycles. Its latest advertising campaign, targeting the young hipster demographic, is using a combination of social media tools in some very inventive ways to make that happen. With a new crowd-sourcing Facebook application called Fan Machine and the Twitter hashtag #StereotypicalHarley, the “E Pluribus Unum” campaign hopes to broaden your idea of a Harley rider. Conceived and developed by Harley-Davidson Facebook fans, the campaign focuses on a series of digital videos featuring actual Harley-Davidson riders alongside the Twitter hashtag.
