A figure skating couple wildly swinging with no end in sight on a small, dining table-sized ice rink. It just sounds like a recipe for disaster. Then, at the 19-second mark, the inevitable happens. As they put a sudden halt to their routine after taking a hard fall, the crowd offers up some encouraging applause, which brings nothing but confusion to one member of the audience. "Why is everybody clapping?" the person asks twice. "Because she is OK," another person responds. After getting the answer to his obvious question, he fires back saying, "Oh, OK. I didn't ask you. Sorry." Note to self: If a person voices an inquiry out loud, don't assume that the individual is seeking an answer.
