To put it as simply as possible, the Volume Generator is a beast. Forget your track bike, the Generator will chew it up and spit it out. It comes with an eight-speed internally geared hub, hydraulic disc brakes, high-profile aero rims, fat 45c tires and tubular chromoly cranks. And, thanks to MTB-style dropouts and an eccentric bottom bracket, chain adjustment can be handled without messing with the rear wheel. As for those aero rims, they're also 36-hole doublewalls, so the Generator is built with more than just speed in mind. (Volume calls it a "commuter bike," but it's more than that, too.) It should last forever — and for $1,500 it better.
