Founded in 2008 in Thailand by former engineer Phil Webb, WebbWorks is a bicycle manufacturer that takes the entire steel vs. carbon argument and throws it right out the window. WebbWorks offers four different frames: the Monsoon CX frame, the Thai Silk road frame, the Hilltribe mountain/urban frame, and the Curry track frame, all made primarily of bamboo (with carbon reinforcements). As strong as steel and with a better shock absorption, the bamboo material used in these bikes makes for a not only great looking and unique bike, but a practical alternative to the industry standards. Each frame is priced at $1199 standard, visit the WebbWorks page for more details.
