So much for that idea! Yesterday, Pueblo Nuevo—a basketball team in the Dominican Republic—announced that they'd signed Allen Iverson to a one-month contract that would pay him about $22,000. Only problem? It seems they forget to actually sign AI before they made the announcement. Because shortly after the news broke last night, AI's manager Gary Moore came out and said that Iverson was "shocked" by the news and that he hadn't actually signed a deal with Pueblo Nuevo. He also announced that AI is still in the United States, working out and "waiting for another opportunity" to present itself.

We hate to break this to you, AI, but...Ah, nevermind. Who are we to smash a guy's hopes and dreams? Don't stop believing! All we're saying is that $22K for a month's worth of work wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world.
