Watchmakers and race drivers have a few things in common. The most noteworthy is that they are both totally obsessed with small fractions of seconds. Race drivers also have quite the need for extremely high quality timepieces, so it's no surprise that there are so many watched have motorsport ties.

The new SVT-GR44 by TSOVET was made in affiliation with Chip Ganassi Race Teams, the RACER Magazine 2010 Team of the Year. The Ganassi team 19 victories and two championships between IndyCar, NASCAR, and Grand-Am in 2010, two more championships in 2011, and took the most coveted podium spot at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. "Dominant" is a word that comes to mind.

The watch is a Valjoux 7750 Elaborated movement encased in 44mm of gun metal 316L stainless steel. The matte finishes on the face of the watch clearly display the standard suite of chronograph functions, time down to the second as well as day and date, and don't worry, it does have the all but obligatory window in back so the lucky buyers can have a chance to ogle the precision make workings of their new watches.

Only 51 will be made and those few who managed to put money down on them will receive their timepieces in May of 2012. What do you think about this new piece?
