Remember the bipolar Portland Trail Blazers who lost to the sorry-ass Wizards before beating the Hawks by 20? Welp, they're still here. The Blazers went into the break by losing to the Lakers by 11, then turning around and crushing the San Antonio Spurs by 40. Fundamental changes occurred after the Lakers game, as Raymond Felton was benched in favor of Jamal Crawford. And while we're not saying it made all the difference, the Blazers scored 7 first-quarter points against the Lakers, and 41 against the Spurs. This might end Jamal's Sixth Man of the Year campaign, but we imagine he'll be OK with that. The true test comes Wednesday, as the Miami Heat come to the Rose Garden. If things stay true to form, the Blazers will win by 50 — then lose to the Timberwolves. —Russ Bengtson
