For a game that means so little, John Wall is none too pleased with getting picked 12th for the Rising Stars Challenge between rookies and sophomores. “It’s a joke to me,” said Wall. “If they think there are 11 guys better than me, then that’s their decision. But I know what I think in my mind and all I can do is go out there and play basketball the way I know how to play.” So, the question needs to be asked: should the Washington starting point guard have been selected before other notable point guards like Kyrie Irving, Ricky Rubio and/or Jeremy Lin?
Even though the Wizards are clearly struggling this year and catching Ls on a nightly basis, Wall has still been able to put up some pretty respectable numbers (16.9 points, 7.5 assists per game). After his mini-rant discussing the matter, the Wizards second-year pro decided to take the high road stating "I’m not upset, just let me tell you how much I do not respect this decision and how wrong it is. But again, don’t care.” Um, clearly you are a little ticked off over dropping so low. But it's all good, man. Just prove all the doubters wrong next Friday.
