Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Says Jeremy Lin Is Being Hyped Up "Because He's Asian"

Money May fires a shot at the Knicks point guard.

None

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. isn't buying into all of the hype surrounding Jeremy Lin. Reason being: He feels that Lin is only receiving all of the recognition that he's getting right now because of his race—and not because of his play on the court.

Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise.

Of course, Money May made headlines almost immediately last night for his thoughts on the subject and everyone sought out clarification on exactly what he meant. So, he took to Twitter again last night to explain his comments on Lin. Er, sort of.

"It's OK for ESPN to give their opinions but I say something and everyone questions Floyd Mayweather," he wrote. "I'm speaking my mind on behalf of other NBA players. They are programmed to be politically correct and will be penalized if they speak up. Other countries get to support/cheer their athletes and everything is fine. As soon as I support Black American athletes, I get criticized."

Wait, are we still talking about Jeremy Lin here—or Floyd Mayweather? Slick move, Money. Slick move. We see what you just did there. Sounds like everyone is trying to profit off of the hype surrounding Lin, eh?
