On paper, he's right.

Defending NBA champion Dirk Nowitzki is averaging 17.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game this season. They are average numbers for the Finals MVP, and compared to people like Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Kevin Love, he certainly does not deserve the votes that could put him into the 2012 All-Star game. In his head, that's very clear.

"Averaging whatever, 15, 16 points, I don't think you should be an All-Star," Nowitzki said. "But we'll just have to wait and see. I think there is a lot of great young talent in this league that deserves to go. I think LaMarcus Aldridge has been stiff the last couple of years. He's a great young player, fun to watch. You know Blake and Love are playing great. There is a lot of talent at my position."

With five hours left to vote, Aldridge certainly has earned his first All-Star appearance averaging 23.1 points, and 8.8 rebounds this season, but he's been snubbed with excellent numbers before. Let us know in the comments who you'd vote for.
