More Blake Griffin news. Apparently, the high-flying Clippers forward has made quite the impact on George Karl. So much so that before the Clippers lost to Karl's Nuggets last night, the legendary NBA coach heaped a good amount of praise on him. At one point, he even stopped and took the time to compare Griffin to a player he used to coach in Seattle when he was with the SuperSonics. That player? None other than Shawn Kemp.

"I've talked to a couple of guys who've said, 'Was Shawn as powerful?'" Karl said. "I think that's the guy who's closest...This kid, he gets so high above the rim. It reminds me of when I was an athlete and I could jump and we got the eight-foot hoops. He does things that we used to do on eight, maybe seven-foot [hoops]. You know, throwing it down from three feet away."

Hmmm...That comparison might work. Then again, we'd like to see Griffin's career end a whole lot differently than Kemp's did. And, hold up: Did George Karl just say he used to dunk like Blake Griffin? Somehow, we seriously doubt that. Even if it was on a seven-foot hoop.
