Goddamnit, Philadelphia sports fans! Don't you guys care at all about what the rest of the world thinks about you? Just when we were beginning to forget about that time that you guys pelted Santa Claus with snowballs (okay, okay, so we'll never forget that), you guys go and do this.

After the 2012 Winter Classic game between the Flyers and Rangers on Monday, a small group of Philly fans paid a homeless man to spray a Rangers fan with water and then beat the guy up because he was wearing a Rangersjersey. We hate to even say this, but no big deal, right? Unfortunately, fights happen all the time at sporting events. Except that, as it turns out, the Rangers fan got banged up pretty bad—and also happens to be a police officer in New Jersey, a veteran of the war in Iraq, and a Purple Heart recipient. So, of course, a handful of news outlets got a hold of the story and turned it into an even bigger deal than it would be if the guy was just a regular old Joe Schmo. D'OH! And, to make matters even worse, the guy had to be hospitalized as a result of the attack and reportedly needs to get a CAT scan to check to see if any damage was done to his brain during it.

As a result, Philly sports fans lose. Again. When are you guys going to learn?
