So much for trying to keep the expectations for the 2012 Olympic basketball team low. Recently, USA Basketball president Jerry Colangelo went on the record and said that he thought it would be "fair" to compare the '12 London Olympic team with the 1992 Dream Team that featured Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and a handful of other NBA legends. And now, on the heels of those comments, LeBron James has come out and said that he too thinks you could compare this year's team with the dominate '92 squad.

"I agree," King James said recently. "They set the standard for USA Basketball in '92 with all the great players they had. But we have some great ones as well. We have some Hall of Famers, some champions. So it's going to be a great [team]."

Let's hope so. After a couple of shoddy performances in the Olympics, we're looking forward to the Americans repeating as the gold medal winners in 2012. Even if we don't necessarily agree with the Dream Team comparison.
