Audi Reveals Awesome New Head-Up Display at CES

The future is now.

Audi has unveiled an amazing new gesture controlled HUD at the CES. In most HUDs an image is projected about eight feet in front of the driver but in Audi's system the images appear 35 to 100 feet ahead of the driver. Not only does this mean that the driver can keep his eyes focused at a good distance for driving when checking the HUD, but it will be able to display turn arrows from the sat-nav over the turns. That's just cool. In addition, the system can project images so that only the driver or only the passenger can see them, so the driver can have a tachometer, a speedometer, and sat-nav while the passenger skims through restaurant reviews. To onlookers from outside the car this will appear to be nothing more than crazy people flailing at hallucinations, but now you know the truth.
