Ayo, Lakers, in the immortal words of DMX: "Y'all been eatin' long enough...now stop bein' greedy!" Seriously, guys. It's not enough that you have a roster that includes Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, andPau Gasol—the guy you swindled out of Memphis a few years ago when you somehow convinced the Grizzlies to take Kwame Brown. It's not enough that you have not one, not two, not three, not four, not five....not 15, but 16 NBA championships. It's not enough that you've got the jerseys of retired players like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Jerry West hanging in your rafters. Now, you're trying to add Chris PaulandDwight Howard into the mix in the Staples Center, too?

According to ESPN's Chris Broussard—Sidebar: We encourage you to search "according to ESPN's Chris Broussard" in Twitter to read the funniest Internet meme of the moment—that's exactly what the Lakers are trying to do right now. They've reportedly told both the Magic and  Hornets that anyone not named Kobe on their roster is available for trade. And while we're not sure that either team will take the bait, we are sure that we're going to be hearing about the possibility of this trade and about six zillion other trades involving CP3 and/or Howard over the course of the next two weeks in the time leading up to the start of the regular season.

If this trade does happen, good luck to the rest of the league. And, if it doesn't? Well, good luck watching SportsCenter between now and Christmas. But, at least it's better than hearing about the lockout, right?

Stay tuned. We should have another Paul/Howard trade rumor coming aaaaaaany minute now...
