The Washington Nationals added another young pitching talent to their rotation by trading four prospects to the Oakland Athletics for Gio Gonzalez. The 26-year-old lefty cost the Nats pitching prospects Brad Peacock, Tommy Milone, A.J. Cole, and catcher Derek Norris. Joining upcoming star Stephen Strasburg, Jordan Zimmerman, John Lannan, and Chien-Ming Wang, Gonzalez sounded extremely optimistic about his new opportunity.

""I love everything about it," Gonzalez told MLB's Bill Ladson over the phone. "I remember growing up watching Chien-Ming Wang with Yankees. You are talking about great guys in that rotation. I don't want to step on anybody's toes. I want to be a part of it as much as possible."

Last season, Gonzalez helped fuel a powerful A's rotation with a 16-12 record, 3.12 ERA, and 196 strikeouts in 202 innings.
