NFL Quick 'Caps: Week 13 Late Scores

It seems like the Packers have a pretty simple solution any time they are in danger of losing a game: Send Jordy Nelson down the sideline and let Aaron Rodgers float a perfectly placed spiral on his back shoulder. The tactic was needed against the Giants, as the Packers went 68 yards in under a minute to kick the tie-breaking field goal. With a passer rating of 106.2, it was the first time this season that Rodgers finished under 110. Mr. Packer, Donald Driver, had one of his best games of the season with two touchdowns.

It was a historic day for San Francisco. Frank Gore became the team’s career rushing leader on 73 yards, and the 49ers clinched the division for the first time since ‘02. Kicker David Akers set the pace early, and Alex Smith followed suit. Akers went 4/4 on the day, and Smith tossed two touchdowns of at least 50 yards each in the second half. The Rams were held without a rushing first down and only had 31 yards on the ground.

Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey had one missed field goal all year. Against the Cardinals, he missed two, including a game-winner. Interestingly enough, he made the game-winner on his first try, but his coach Jason Garrett had already called a timeout. Instead of winning the game, the Cowboys were sent to overtime, only to lose on a LaRod Stephens-Howling 52-yard screen pass.
