Man, we hate to see stories like this. Brandon Roy is, by all accounts, a pretty good guy and, when healthy, he's been one hell of a player, too. So we're sad to see that the former NBA Rookie of the Year, who has battled degenerative knees and endured multiple knee surgeries, is reportedly going to hang up his sneaks for good and declare a medical retirement from the NBA. He still has four years and $64 million left on his current contract, but by declaring a "medical retirement," he'll save the Blazers a boatload of cash next year when they can remove his contract from the books.

So, let us get this straight: Eddy Curry's career is still chugging along...but Brandon Roy's isn't? Why, basketball gods? WHY?!
