We can't even express how painful that sounds.

When we heard that a soccer player had ruptured one of his testicles early last week, we were pretty sure that that was going to be the most painful sports injury we'd hear about this year. Or, better yet, ever. What could possibly be worse than that? And yet, just a little more than a week later, that guy sounds like he suffered a hangnail compared to an injury suffered by one of his fellow soccer players. Gillingham F.C. winger Chris Whelpdale got tackled during a match on Monday afternoon and experienced what has to be one of the most painful injuries that a man could ever experience—a split scrotum.

"It's a horrific injury," Whelpdale's manager Andy Hessenthaler said after the game. "It's absolutely disgusting. He's going to be very sore, and I'm sure his wife won't be too happy, either."

Um, ya think? OUCH. We feel your pain, dude.
