A tiny two-car accident late Friday night on the Autobahn blew up into a 52-car disaster that killed three and injured dozens more. Dense fog meant zero visibility, giving people no time to see or react to the crashes ahead. The pileup happened on the A31 near Muenster, Gronau next to the Germany-Netherlands border. Two deaths were the result of people getting out of their vehicles, while the third happened to a man still inside his car that had slid down a nearby incline.
