The Rolls-Royce Phantom 102EX Electric Car

Rolls-Royce has engineered an environmentally friendly option for the luxury set.

Reaching up to 125 mph on a full charge, Rolls-Royce has finished engineering the Phantom 102EX electric car which they unveiled as a concept back in March. Swapping out the Phantoms 6.75-liter V-12 engine with a 71-kilowatt-hour, lithium-ion battery the new Phantom promises to deliver on two fronts traditionally at odds with each other. What the company is calling "the world’s first battery electric vehicle for the ultra-luxury segment,” the 102EX represents the company's first foray into the electric car market. With the "ultra-luxury" automakers decision to go environmentally friendly, we can't help but imagining that the tide is finally changing to smarter alternatives, but maybe sales on the 102EX will tell another story.
