Scion Thinking About Daihatsu Based Small Pick-Up

If Ford won't give us a ranger, we'll take one of these.

None

The small truck is a quickly dying segment in the automotive world and that's a damn shame. Think about what the average truck user hauls in his or her truck: large but not terribly heavy objects like mattresses, lumber, or furniture. There aren't that many truck owners who actually haul boats or large amounts of very heavy materials that require a big engine. The small truck makes sense.

Luckily, Scion recently said to Auto Guide that they were considering developing a new pick-up truck with Daihatsu, much like how the FR-S/BRZ was a joint Toyota/Subaru collaboration. We're sure hoping this isn't a pipe dream.
