It sure sounds like it.

On the one hand, we can't imagine Penn State asking Joe Paterno—or, rather, forcing Joe Paterno—to give up his gig as the head football coach at PSU. The guy has seemingly been roaming the Nittany Lions sidelines since the day before college football officially kicked off and became a thing. Seriously. Just look at that picture up there.

On the other hand, how can Penn State not give him the boot in light of the sex-abuse scandal involving his former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky? Like, they can't just pretend that that didn't happen on Joe Pa's watch, right? Apparently not. According to the New York Times, Penn State—which cancelled Paterno's weekly press conference earlier today—is reportedly hashing out an exit strategy for Coach Paterno. We kind of can't believe it at this point. But this is really happening, folks. And, you know what? If what Sandusky is being accused of is true, then deservedly so.

See ya on the flipside, Joe. It's been one hell of a run.
