Hockey's a rough enough sport as it is. But when you toss in the occasional equipment malfunction, it starts to approach a pro wrestling level of rough. In last night's Colorado Avalanche-Dallas Stars game, Avs forward TJ Galiardi checked Stars defenceman Mark Fistric into the boards precisely at the penalty box door. The door flew open, and Fistric was slammed into the door frame. Fistric left the ice but didn't miss a shift, and Galiardi didn't visit the penalty box himself (it was a perfectly legal hit). If you've ever, say, consumed a bottle or three of wine and walked into a door frame—traveling about 30 mph with a 190 lb. man pushing into your back—you have an idea of Fistric's pain.
