Saarland University's Saarbrücken Computer Science center in Germany has developed a wireless electronic bicycle brake technology, an enhancement of possibly questionable commercial viability, though of value in other applications.  "In the field of the future European Train Service, for example, concrete plans already exist," says Professor Holger Hermanns of the university, in regards to the technology's operation in more complex systems.
