The Volkswagen Golf R is set to be an awesome practical sports car. Seeing as it features a 256 horsepower 2.0L turbo and Haldex all wheel drive, we're pretty excited about VeeDub's new hot hatch. The question up until now has been "how much?" though. Well now we know.
$33,990 for the base two door. The base does come with some pretty sweet equipment though, like the Bi-Xenon headlights, LED DRLs, a six-speed manual transmission, and a Golf R specific suspension set up. If you find that lacking and desire a four door with a sunroof and navigation, you had better be ready to shell out $35,490 though.
