It's been almost three years now since Plaxico Burress accidentally fired a gun in a New York City nightclub and shot himself in the leg, an incident that forever altered his NFL career and, more importantly, his life. So, how does the Jets receiver feel about the incident now? Well, somewhat surprisingly, he admits that the whole thing seems silly to him because he can't even picture what he'd do if he ever needed to use a gun to protect himself, which is the whole reason he was carrying one back in November 2008 in the first place.

"When I look back at it, I say if I was to get into a situation where I had to use my firearm, would I actually pull it and use it—return fire, or shoot?" Burress said recently. "Just the thought of that gives you goosebumps to think about it. It was a false sense of security, because I can't picture myself actually pulling the trigger and shooting somebody."

Damn. They say hindsight is 20/20. But, don't Giants fans out there cringe when they hear Plax say that? Ah, well. It's good to see he's learned his lesson. [via The Star-Ledger]
