TheNPD Group, a multi-national market research group, recently reported that the sale of bicycles, components, accessories, rental, maintenance and clothing has topped $46 billion dollars worldwide, an increase of 4 percent from the year prior. According to the report cycling has accounted for 15 percent of all sporting goods revenue across the world with the ‘Gross Cycling Product’ in the UK reaching £2.9 billion, and about $6 billion in sales revenue in the U.S. in 2010.
