Cadillac Cancels Plans For ATS Convertible

Cadillac gives plans for a new ATS convertible the axe.

None

After leaked photos have built up the hype for the Cadillac ATS convertible over the past several weeks, GM has surprisingly decided to cancel the release of the sports sedan. The company cites the fact that they believe the market for this company will be limited in numbers, thus will not justify the capital it would take to manufacture the vehicle. Most likely the truth is that they may not have room in their budget to fund the coupe. The convertible was looking to go head-to-head against competitors like the Mercedes Benz C Class, Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series. On the upside, the ATS Coupe is still on track to see the light of day and will debut at either the New York or Detroit Auto Show next year.
