Likely the first of its kind, a new CD has hit the market soley comprised of sounds made by the iconic Volkswagen Beetle automobile from 1960 to 1978. The disc titled, The Beetles: Greatest Sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s, is made up of 10 tracks each playing sounds from 3 different engines for a total of 30 sounds from the classic VW. The tracks include such audio bites as “Gears 1 - 2”, “Long Idle” and “Turn-Off, Handbrake.” BeetleSounds.com, the company behind this Beetle music endeavor, employed three real life Beetles to compose the soundtrack. They were the 1200cc / 36 hp 1960 Beetle, a 1600cc ’73 Beetle in power blue and a fuel injected 1978 convertible. The price of this unique musical offering is $12.99 for a physical copy or $9.99 for a digital download.
