Things have officially gone from bad to worse for Manny Ramirez. About six months after he was essentially forced to retire from baseball rather than face a 100-game suspension for a second violation of Major League Baseball's drug policy, Ramirez was arrested yesterday afternoon when his wife Juliana called police after an alleged domestic dispute at the couple's home in Florida. She alleges she was on the couple's bed when Ramirez hit her in the face with an open hand, which caused her to bang her head on the headboard. Ramirez denied hitting her, but he was taken in anyway, ordered to have no direct contact with his wife, and held on $2500 bail.
Damn, homie. You do realize that that whole "Idiots" thing that you were a part of with the Red Sox ended back in '04, right? Smarten up. [via Sports Illustrated]
