Keep It 100: Aaron Rodgers Is Not Better Than Brett Favre

In which Complex Sports tackles the issues of the day, in 100 words or fewer.

Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl. Does that mean Trent Dilfer is a better quarterback? No! So don’t let Aaron Rodgers’ one Super Bowl eclipse clear thinking when you flirt with the decision to say he’s better than Brett Favre. Because he’s not.

Did Aaron light it up for 399 yards after his dad died? Did he hold the NFL hostage three summers in a row? No scandals, no records for Rodgers. A true American quarterback has legend, lore, and stories that defy imagination, common sense, and brevity.

Aaron Rodgers is a Clydesdale. Brett Favre is a unicorn.

You're delusional Brett Favre was interesting because he was a reckless gunslinger who was known for his touchdowns as well as his picks which he leads qbs all time in. With all Rodgers had to overcome living in Brett's shadow for 3 seasons since he took over the reigns he is a much better qb than Brett was at the same point in his career. If Rodgers throws for 30 picks in a season then you make this article but not now.

So what makes Rodgers better? His stats? Don't forget Brett never played with a defense like Rodgers has now and never had all the weapons Rodgers has either.

I agree with Ty 100%. Rodgers stats are better as far as turnovers at the very least. Favre did have good defenses, special teams, and certain receiving weapons as well. He just had a very long career in Green Bay and it didn't stay consistent through the span of time. All though the Packers have a great receiving unit now, Brett had many great players as well. Not to mention a defensive line that broke many records in itself. Give Rodgers a few more years and he will be breaking Brett's records tenfold.

The same defense that has been getting scorched these past two weeks yet Rodgers play has saved them? Dont really see where you were going with that. I also believe that the Packers receivers wouldn't look as good on other teams, they have just developed a strong chemistry through well drawn plays and practice.

Favre had Reggie White and that solid D for years. Rodgers will not break Favre's record, but that's a good thing. He'll know when to call it quits instead of dragging out his career. Rodgers will win, and is currently better than Favre was at any point of his career.
